Your Universe for Critical Thinking Mastery
This project is a term project of the "Generative AI in UX" course at UMD HCI, focusing on how to effectively integrate generative AI into the UX research and design process. While most of the content is generated by ChatGPT 4o mini, I leverage my design skills to demonstrate a comprehensive design project, showcasing the synergy between AI capabilities and human-centered design principles.

In the age of generative AI, critical thinking is essential for individuals to effectively navigate the vast information landscape. My transition from Asia to the U.S. has also highlighted how environments can significantly influence one's critical thinking abilities. This drives my motivation to design an app that enhances users' critical thinking skills, empowering them to navigate complex challenges effectively.

How might we empower individuals to enhance their critical thinking skills, enabling them to effectively navigate complex information landscapes in the age of generative AI?
ChatGPT excels at rapidly generating multiple ideas. However, I discovered that as ChatGPT generates more content, its responses become increasingly general. To address this, I asked ChatGPT to focus on creating just the top 3 personas based on my problem statement, which resulted in more detailed and specific user profiles.
After several iterations of conversations to refine the information and prioritize personas, the 3 persons that my design will focus on are Alex, Mia, and Ethan. Furthermore, I manually summarized the key elements into persona boards—including names, quotes, pain points, and goals.
